Marjoram, a bushy herb with dark silver-green leaves, downy stem and clusters of tiny, pinkish white flowers, yields colorless oil with a spicy, warm, woody aroma. This herb been used in perfume, ointment and as a food flavoring since the time of Ancient Egypt. Marjoram is known as ''the great comforter'' for its strong and powerful sedating effect.

Essential oil such as marjoram is a perennial herb included as a seasoning in various dishes and an all-natural remedy known for treating various health ailments. However, before incorporating it as a natural health regime, it is advised to strictly follow the directions of usage and in some cases should not be used without consulting your health physician as it can possess serious health risk.
